Landfill Gas to Energy Facility, Auburn, New York

(CH-Auburn Energy, LLC/Auburn Energy, LLC, Owner)

Under an EPC (engineering/procurement/construction) contract with CH-Auburn Energy, LLC, a wholly- owned subsidiary of CH-Enterprises, a unit of CH Energy, Inc., Greenfield constructed the Auburn, New York 3.0 MW electrical generation project, began generation on January 29, 2010, and managed the dual-fueled (natural gas and LFG) plant until September 2011, when an affiliate of Greenfield – Auburn Energy LLC, purchased the project. The construction of the metal skinned pole barn structure began on August 5, 2009. The engine room floor slab is designed as spill containment.   Separate spill containments are also used for the fresh and waste oil tanks, the coolant tank, and all oil-based transformers.  All engine waste heat is extracted by Kickham boilers for potential use by a City of Auburn thermal customer when one is identified. The facility can be remotely monitored to change its operating levels and start or stop the engines when needed.
