St. Lawrence Centre, Massena, New York 

St. Lawrence Centre is a 580,000 square foot shopping center located in Massena, New York. The work included the largest earth moving job in New York State; 1.1 million cubic yards had to be excavated in order to begin building construction. One major obstacle that Edgewater overcame was the remediation of problem soil conditions affecting approximately 35% of the shopping center structure. 

 Edgewater was the general contractor for the shopping center, which was developed on approximately 100 acres. The project began in July 1989 and opened for business on August 2, 1990 with Sears, J.C. Penney, Hills, and Chappell’s department stores as anchor tenants. Total contract $50,000,000.
